All you need to know for the Mexico City Gay Pride 2023

Back by popular demand and after last year’s success hitting the +250,000 people mark, the Mexico City Gay Pride Parade is set to hit Reforma avenue this next Saturday, June 24th 2023, and it promises to be bigger and wilder than ever.

Over the years, the Mexico City Gay Pride has grown from a small street party to a full-week celebration with over 50 LGBTQ+ activities, festivals, raves, and more.

The Mexico City Gay Pride is the second largest gay parade in the world, after New York City’s. It’s held annually, and it’s one of the most anticipated events in Mexico. The parade is a massive celebration of freedom, full of floats, drag queens, bands, and thousands of semi-naked spectators.

If you haven’t made it to the Mexico City Gay Pride in the past few years, this is an excellent opportunity to see what the fuss is all about.

Take a look at this guide to everything you need to know about the Mexico City Gay Pride 2023, and get ready for this crazy week full of events.

Still, no party is more anticipated than Pervert, a rave for the queer in the most bizarre locations.

Clubs hosting parties during the Mexico City Gay Pride 2023

Mexico City is famous for its growing queer scene and multiple gay bars across the city.

Most bars and clubs will hold special events and theme nights, and pride week is the best time to see them in action. It’s no surprise that many of the parties will be announced from two to three weeks before pride, and we will be adding all the details as soon as they are confirmed. However, we already have a good grasp of what to expect.

The following list is a selection of the venues we recommend to keep an eye on as we know they will be having the most incredible parties after the pride parade.

LX LOCX

LX LOCX is an underground club on Republica de Cuba street in Downtown Mexico City. You won’t find a sign at the door, and it might be a bit tricky to get with the place if you are not familiar with the area, but it is definitely worth a visit.

LX LOCX has a great mix of people and music, ranging from pop hits to perreo. The club has shows all night by the most famous Drag Queens in Mexico City. We know they will probably have two parties simultaneously in two different locations around El Centro of Mexico City.

Their biggest parties are held on Halloween and on Pride day at this year´s “You Make Me Feel” party with very  big names in their lineup. The club will operate regularly on Pride Day, starting at 6:00pm.

RICO

Rico is LX LOCX’s big sister in an established venue in Zona Rosa, running from Wednesday to Sunday. They have limited capacity and don’t take reservations. It’s a good idea to go straight to the club before the end of the Pride parade, let’s say around 5:00PM.

We know first-hand that it will be practically impossible to get in after 8 pm because it’s very close to the parade. Rico will also be hosting the “You Make Me Feel Party” along with LX LOCX on Saturday June 24th.

TOM’S LEATHER BAR

If you have done your research correctly, we know that Tom’s is probably on top of your list.

Located in La Condesa, Tom’s is a popular spot among the local gay community and leather enthusiasts from all over the country for its sexy and mysterious atmosphere.

They will be opening regularly on Pride day starting 21:00hrs for this very special night. Cover is $350 mxn and includes two beers. We know firsthand they are expecting full house on than night, so be there at least with one hour in advance. It will be a very busy week starting Tuesday, June 20th.

Tom’s is the place to be if you’re into the BDSM and cruising scene. Expect to see many boys wearing harnesses and the most detailed leather costumes.

Full leather outfits get 5 beers with your cover instead of two.

BABY

Experience the Ultimate Pride Celebration at Baby Club! 🎉🌈

If you’re looking for a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, look no further than Baby Club. This all-time favorite venue has recently relocated to a wider and beautifully refurbished mansion in la Zona Rosa. Drawing in a young and enthusiastic crowd every weekend, Baby Club is a must-visit spot during Pride Week. But that’s not all—this club has something special planned. They’re known for hosting larger events in different parts of the city, and their Pride Edition is one of their standout affairs.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 24th, and get ready for a day filled with excitement and unforgettable performances. Baby Club’s Celebration Party will feature special guests Turbulence Drag and La Burrita Burrona, who will captivate you with their electrifying performances.

The festivities kick off at 2:00 PM, and the entry fee is just $100 mxn for general access from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. After 6:00 PM until midnight, the entry fee is $150 mxn, and for those who want to party into the late hours, it’s $200 mxn after midnight. Remember, this event only accepts walk-ins, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot at this incredible celebration of love and pride!🎶🌟

We’re expecting a very special event at SODOME, so we recommend keeping an eye on their social media accounts in the coming weeks.

Discoteca is a gay club located in La Roma that’s only open on Friday nights and is known for its glamorous atmosphere full of great looks.

Accommodation options for the Mexico City Gay Pride 2023

If you plan your trip for the Mexico City Gay Pride, you might wonder what’s the best area to stay to be at the center of all the action.

Only for Pride week, we think it might not be the best idea to stay in La Roma or Condesa neighborhoods, as you will probably find higher occupation rates and transportation to the events might take you more time.

These areas are not just a few steps away from Reforma, where the parade is, but also from most venues where most of the parties will be held.

There are plenty of value hotels and hostels ideal for those looking to experience pride in style without spending a fortune; most importantly, you won’t need transportation in and out of the parties.
