About Gay Mexico City — The Best Resource for Gay Travelers

Gay Mexico City exists because generic travel advice isn't built for us. We are gay locals who know this city — the bars worth going to on a Tuesday, the underground parties that don't advertise, the restaurants where the crowd actually matters. We built the resource we always wished existed.

What Gay Mexico City is

We are a curated travel and lifestyle platform dedicated entirely to gay travelers in Mexico City. Not a directory that lists everything. Not a blog that recycles the same five neighborhoods. A filter — built by gay locals, for gay travelers who value taste, specificity, and time.

Mexico City has one of the most vibrant and complex gay scenes in Latin America. Zona Rosa is just the beginning. There are shamanic mezcal bars, fetish nights in colonial buildings, drag shows in unmarked venues, underground queer parties that rotate locations, and a food scene that would embarrass most cities in the world. We know where all of it is, and more importantly, we know which of it is actually worth your night.

"Not a directory. A filter. The gay leading the gay through Mexico City."

What we do

Everything we produce has one purpose: to give gay travelers a better, more honest experience of Mexico City. We do that through three things — our digital guide, our gay tours, and our curated events coverage.

The Gay Mexico City Guide is our flagship product. It covers 180+ listings across 12 categories — food, nightlife, gay bars, underground parties, saunas, cruising clubs, and accommodation — each one personally vetted and described with the kind of context you only get from someone who actually lives here. Every category connects to its own Google Maps list, so you can navigate the city from the moment you land.

Our Gay Mexico City Tours take it further. Small groups — usually one or two guests — guided by a gay local through the parts of the city that most visitors never reach. We don't take you to Frida Kahlo's house. We take you to the hidden gem pozole spot, the low-key cruising bar, the underground queer club that doesn't have a sign on the door.

Who we are for

Gay travelers between 25 and 45 who travel with intention. You care about where you eat and drink. You want to go out, but you want to go out well. You're not looking for the loudest place — you're looking for the right place. You've done TripAdvisor. You're done with TripAdvisor.

If you want a local gay friend to text you the real list before your trip, this is the closest thing that exists.

Why Mexico City

Mexico City is one of the great gay travel destinations in the world, and it's still underrated. The food scene is extraordinary. The nightlife runs deep and weird and honest. The architecture is staggering. The gay community here is rooted, creative, and politically alive in a way that very few cities match.

It also requires a guide. Language barriers are real. Tourist traps are everywhere. The best places don't advertise. That's exactly why Gay Mexico City exists — and why it matters that the guide is written by someone who lives here, goes out here, and has no financial incentive to recommend anything that isn't worth your time.

Why Gay Mexico City is the best resource for gay travelers

Every travel resource claims to be honest and curated. Here's what makes us different in practice.

01

Written by gay locals, not travel writers

The guide is written by people who live here, go out here, and have strong opinions about what's worth your time. No press trips. No sponsored content. No incentive to recommend anything mediocre.

02

Gay-specific context on every listing

Knowing a bar exists is not enough. We tell you what night is worth going, what the crowd is actually like, how much English is spoken, what to order, and what to avoid. Context that a straight travel writer can't give you.

03

Always updated

Mexico City's scene moves. Bars close, new ones open, nights change. We update the guide regularly so you're never working from outdated information. The version you download is the current version.

04

Connected to Google Maps

Every listing links to Google Maps. Twelve separate lists — one per category — that you can save to your phone before you travel. Navigate the city without WiFi, without asking anyone, without guessing.

05

Beyond Zona Rosa

Zona Rosa is where gay tourists go. We take you to where gay locals actually are — Centro, La Roma, La Juárez, Condesa, and the venues that don't have a neighborhood at all because they move every month.
